Ducabike Brake Plate Radiator
Improve brake temperature management with the Ducabike Brake Plate Radiator, a specially engineered component designed to reduce heat transfer from the brake pads to the caliper while supporting pad cooling. Its hybrid construction combines thermal steel with a lightweight aluminium alloy to help manage heat during braking.
Developed through extensive road and track testing, this design addresses heat accumulation around the brake pad, caliper piston and brake fluid. According to Ducabike’s testing, the system reduced brake pad temperatures by up to 20°C and helped improve braking consistency. It also showed potential to extend brake pad life by up to 25% under the tested conditions.

Dual-Material Design for Heat Management
The Ducabike Brake Plate Radiator uses two metal elements to balance thermal insulation and heat dissipation. The main body consists of special thermal steel, while a lightweight aluminium alloy component assists heat exchange.
This combination aims to limit heat transfer from the brake pad towards the caliper and brake fluid. At the same time, the aluminium section helps dissipate heat away from the braking assembly. As a result, the design addresses both heat insulation and cooling.
Precision-Machined Thermal Steel
The main thermal steel component is laser-cut and CNC-machined. Its slots serve two purposes: they reduce the contact surface and help release hot air trapped inside the brake piston cavity.
Consequently, the design helps reduce heat accumulation around the piston and limits heat propagation towards the brake fluid. These features support the product’s goal of managing high temperatures during demanding braking conditions.
Lightweight Aluminium Heat Sink
The thermal steel body connects to a specially selected aluminium alloy heat sink. Ducabike uses this material for its high thermal conductivity, helping the component exchange and dissipate heat.
Together, the two materials create a hybrid arrangement intended to balance thermal performance, weight and ease of installation.
Developed Through Road and Track Testing
Ducabike developed the Brake Plate Radiator over approximately one year. During development, the company evaluated different materials and configurations using data-acquisition equipment and thermal imaging cameras.
The testing programme included more than 500 hours on the circuit and 20,000 km of road testing across six motorcycles and different riding conditions. According to the manufacturer, the final design reflects this testing and comparison process.
Reported results included lower brake pad temperatures, improved stability at the start of braking, better pad rollback and a reduction in residual brake drag. Ducabike also reported up to 25% longer brake pad life under its test conditions. Actual results may vary depending on the motorcycle, brake components and riding conditions.
