Carbon Fibre Construction

The SC1-R features a carbon fibre body and carbon fibre end cap. The carbon end cap uses autoclave manufacturing, while the titanium outlet receives a hydroforming process.

This combination of materials creates a lightweight exhaust package with a strong racing character. The included large autoclave-made carbon protection also completely replaces the original protection.

Performance and Weight Reduction

The SC1-R delivers a claimed +5.2 hp at 8200 rpm and +4.3 Nm of torque at 8200 rpm. These figures highlight the performance-focused character of this SC Project exhaust.

The complete SC1-R weighs 2.2 kg, compared with 4.1 kg for the stock exhaust. Therefore, the system reduces weight by 1.9 kg compared with the original unit.

This weight reduction can complement the Z900’s overall riding character while giving the motorcycle a more performance-oriented exhaust setup.

Titanium Link Pipe and Racing Details

SC Project uses a titanium link pipe with T.I.G. technology for the welds of the bracket and pipe. The titanium outlet also receives a hydroforming process that contributes to the distinctive SC1-R design.

In addition, SC Project uses soundproofing material designed to withstand very high temperatures. The result is an exhaust package built around the demands of a high-performance four-cylinder motorcycle.

Distinctive Kawasaki Four-Cylinder Sound

SC Project developed the SC1-R sound specifically for the Kawasaki four-cylinder engine. The muffler provides a distinctive exhaust note while retaining its approved road-legal configuration.

The included dB-killer allows the exhaust to meet its approved configuration. The SC1-R carries EC/ECE type approval and remains street legal under Euro 4 regulations.

Carbon Heat Protection Included

The SC1-R comes with a large autoclave-made carbon heat protection. This protection completely replaces the original component and integrates with the exhaust’s carbon construction.

This included protection also adds to the racing-inspired appearance of the complete setup while providing the dedicated component supplied with the SC1-R package.
