1. What Is the WRS Caponord Windshield with Radar?

The WRS Caponord is a touring-style windscreen that WRS (WR S.r.l.) engineered specifically for the BMW R 1300 GS models equipped with radar-based rider assist systems. Riders can choose from two finishes—transparent (BM090T) or smoked (BM090F)—depending on their style and visibility preferences. Crafted from 4 mm-thick PMMA plexiglass, this shield delivers high rigidity, excellent optical clarity, and solid resistance to impacts.

WRS offers several variants of this windscreen:

• BM090T / BM090F: These standard Caponord models feature a radar-compatible profile and maintain a clean, aerodynamic design.

• BM108T / BM108F: The Caponord Plus versions include integrated side deflectors in a one-piece construction, also supporting radar-equipped models.

• BM084T / BM084F: These versions work for bikes without radar, offering the same protection but without the radar sensor accommodations.

WRS designed all these windscreens with rider comfort and safety in mind, aiming to reduce wind buffeting and enhance both rider and passenger protection. Each model also carries TÜV certification, meeting stringent European standards for road use and safety.

Material & Build: WRS constructs each windscreen from 4 mm-thick PMMA plexiglass, chosen for its strength, lightweight properties, and exceptional clarity. The TÜV certification confirms that the shield meets high safety and quality benchmarks.

Radar Compatibility: The design specifically accommodates BMW’s front radar sensors. The cut-outs and curvature align precisely with the GS’s radar equipment, maintaining full functionality without interference.

Side Deflectors: The Caponord Plus variants (BM108T and BM108F) include built-in side deflectors. These elements help channel air more efficiently around the rider’s shoulders and arms, improving long-distance comfort and reducing fatigue.
