The SC Project SC1-R Titanium Exhaust Matt Black- Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX (2020) combines a titanium body with a carbon fibre end cap and SAE 304 stainless steel link pipe. SC1-R Design for the Ninja 1000SX

SC-Project developed the SC1-R muffler to suit the aggressive design of big sport-tourer bikes such as the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. The design combines technology, production processes and materials selected for the SC1-R range.

The exhaust uses a titanium body and a carbon fibre end cap. In addition, the link pipe uses SAE 304 stainless steel. The mounting type is a bracket, keeping the product configuration focused on the specified slip-on design.

Materials and Production

SC-Project uses TIG welding manufactured in a protected environment for the SC1-R. The internal bushings receive CNC machining from solid block, while the exit pipe uses hydroforming technology. Furthermore, the sound-absorbing material is resistant to very high temperatures.

These production details form part of the SC1-R construction. The product is also 100% Made in Italy and has been projected and manufactured for long-distance use.

Power, Torque and Weight

The SC1-R provides +1.2 hp at 8500 rpm and +1.0 Nm of torque at 8500 rpm. Meanwhile, the exhaust weighs 2.8 kg compared with 4.6 kg for the stock exhaust, giving a 1.8 kg reduction.

SC-Project also states a -40% weight reduction compared with the OEM exhaust, along with a constant improvement of performance delivery.

Euro 4 Street-Legal Specification

For the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX, this exhaust comes in a Euro 4 compliant version. It is type-approved for EC/ECE street-legal use and includes a type approval certificate.

The installation is plug&play, and ECU remapping is not necessary. In addition, the silencer is suitable with OEM side cases. The SC1-R is available in titanium colour or ceramic matt-black colour, with this product specified in matt black.

Street-Legal Equipment and Compatibility

The SC1-R package includes the specified street-legal Euro 4 configuration for the Ninja 1000SX. The type approval certificate accompanies the stated EC/ECE approval. Moreover, the original side-case compatibility keeps the supplied application specific to the Ninja 1000SX. The matt-black option is listed as a ceramic matt-black colour, alongside the titanium colour option.
